Bluesfest starts today and runs through the Easter long weekend in the beautiful town of Byron Bay. I’m venturing down today to check out some of the amazing music, the not so understated fashion, and soak up the chilled atmosphere during one of Byron Bay’s leading festivals.

Although it’s been on my wish list for a while now, this will be my first time attending the event and I’m super excited. So here’s a look at some of my favourite bands who will be performing at this years Bluesfest.

Sublime With Rome.

Reintroducing themselves to music fans across the globe, I’ve been a huge fan of this band for years and have been dying to see them perform live ever since first hearing their song Santeria. One of the most remarkable and successful ska-punk bands of all time, I will be lucky enough to catch them and a collection of other captivating artists at this years bluesfest.

Earth, Wind & Fire.

One of my favourite songs of all time is September (do you remember) by Earth, Wind & Fire so needless to say I’m was super excited when I heard the infectious soul-funk superstars, Earth, Win & Fire were performing at this years Bluesfest. Transforming this years Blues into a boogie wonderland with their smooth, rock & roll, psychedelia, blues, folk, African music, they’re, no doubt, number one on my hit list.

John Fogerty.

42 years ago, when John Fogerty, the original flannel-shirted rocker, first kicked off his roots rock ethos with Creedence Clearwater Revival he, although not recognised at the time, developed a sound that was a mash up of roots rock, alt-country and Americana. Timeless and indelible, I can’t wait to see him, an all time great, perform the music that he has written and only he can sing.
