OBSESSION: Vintage Floral

It’s feminine, it’s demure, and it’s been around since the beginning of colour in woven fabric. Vintage floral is a print that we solemnly swear to continue loving until the end of time.

Floral prints are present on the runways and in the fashion world now more than ever, but it’s the pale, old-school, washed out vintage prints that we love to see with torn denim shorts and bright summer tops and skirts. We’re even seeing floods of ladies rocking floral on floral – and we don’t hate it…

Originating in the East and Asia, and becoming present as early as the late middle ages, floral fabrics were imported to Europe at high prices, making floral garments a symbol of status and wealth. While the style of print has developed and changed over centuries, with influences from all over the world, the feminine appeal of the floral print lives on, and designers today have adapted it suit the trends of today. As we would have been years ago (had we lived in the middle ages), we are totally obsessed with vintage florals!
