The Banzai Pipeline lit up for Round 2 of the Billabong Pipeline Masters, with some spectacular surfing going down at the world famous reef break on Hawaii’s North Shore.

Kelly Slater continued to chase his chance of an unprecedented 12th World Title, taking on Pipe specialist Reef McIntosh and advancing through to Round 3. As each heat progressed, others fell victim to the solid conditions. With countless wipe-outs and snapped surfboards washing up on shore, the local groms enjoyed a couple of early Chrissy presents.

The day was full of action with big names Julian Wilson and Kai Otton advancing to the next round, Travis Logie cruising into retirement as he surfed his last pipeline, and Tom Carroll proving that at  53-years-old he’s still got what it takes.

Here are some of our favourite images from all the action of Round 2.

Stay tuned for all the latest updates from the Billabong Pipe Masters!
