With summer in full swing, TALULAH‘s Design Team have curated a guide to one of our favourite coastal towns, Byron Bay. Heed their top picks for coffee, restaurants, shopping, accommodation and activities & adventures.

Activities & Adventures
There are so many things to do in Byron Bay, that it’s really hard to choose a favourite. We suggest packing as many outdoor activities into your day to make the most of the beautiful beaches and landscapes that surround the Byron Shire.

Surf lessons are a must, and there are a number of surf schools and private surf instructors that you can book a lesson with when you arrive. Nothing beats catching waves on the most easterly point of Australia, while looking back on The Pass, Main beach and Tambourine Mountain. It’s also a great opportunity to mix with the locals who spend their summer in the water riding the waves. We suggest contacting the team at Byron Bay Surf School when you arrive – they run surf and paddle boarding lessons every day of the week.

Another must do activity is a trip to Mynon Falls. Pack a picnic and drive out to the National Park where you can swim in the creek on top of the cliff, while watching the falls cascade into the deep palm shaded gauge below.
If you’re in town on a Friday between 7 and 11am, you must visit the Mullumbimby Farmers Market for a coffee and fresh market breakfast. While you’re there listen to some quality local musos and enjoy Mullum at its most colorful best.

Coffee
Top Shop, Roadhouse and Bayleaf are our top picks for the best coffee in Byron. Weather you’re after a latte on the run or a long macchiato over breakfast, each offer their own unique blends, delicious menus and funky atmosphere. You have to try them all!

Restaurants
Harvest is our pick for special occasions or Sunday breakfast. An open plan Queenslander cottage located just outside Byron Bay in Newrybar, Harvest is a recently re-furbished 99 year old bakery lead by head Chef Joseph Griffin and his team. A deli, restaurant and bakery that offers a range of different menus showcasing fresh, local and seasonal produce Harvest is the perfect place for a quick stop in or sit down.

Shopping
The town has some great boutiques for holiday shopping. Our top stores to visit include Nami, which has a  wide range of designer brands for men, women and kids (including our TALULAH RTW collections), Island Luxe for exclusive men’s and women’s fashion and accessories with a bohemian twist, and Liberty Trading Co for handpicked homewares from around the globe.

Accommodation
Our favourite place in town is The Atlantic Byron Bay. Set right in the heart of Byron, The Atlantic is in walking distance to the best surf and beaches. Think three Caribbean style beach cottages  set amongst tropical gardens and a backdrop of rainforest reserve. If you’re after more of a camping experience, you can go past their American Airstream caravan. It’s an uber cool silver caravan with a poolside setting – it’s the ultimate glamping experience.
