The 2015 Volcom Pipe Pro is done and dusted, with John John Florence being crowned Champion for 2015. The World Surfing League Qualifying Series event took only five of the eleven day waiting period to complete, with outstanding performances (and some of the best barrels we’ve seen over the Hawaiian Winter season).

The army of 112 competitors was reduced to just four as John John Florence, Mason HO, Kelly Slater and Sebastian ‘Seabass’ Zietz hit the water for an epic final showdown. With a dominant six to eight feet swell, Florence needed just six short minutes to produce his winning combination and posted a 8.43 and a 9.20 to take the event on home soil.

The Volcom Pipe Pro serves as a standout event on the Qualifying Series Tour, with many local and international up and coming riders all eager to prove to the world they have what it takes.

“I got a lot of confidence out of the end of last year and Gabe winning the title,” said Florence. “It really opened my eyes, like, oh my gosh, I want to do that now! It’s really pushing all of us. Going into 2015, I’m excited, and it’s great to start the year here at home in great waves. This event helps get momentum to head into the season.”

The top 16 surfers of the competition now obtain automatic entries to the $100,000 Pipe Invitational, which serves as a trial event for the Billabong Pipeline Masters towards the end of the year.

And, without further adieu, here are some of our favourite shots taken throughout the Volcom Pipe Pro for 2015.
