The challenge.

After spending 4 days in Palm Springs for Coachella Fest we only had 48 hours in LA before heading home.

Stop 1. Venice Beach
Stop 2. Hollywood Blvd
Stop 3. The Hollywood Sign.
Stop 4. Sunset Blvd.
Stop 5. Downtown LA.

And let’s not forget, checking out California’s famous burger joint, In-N-Out.

Venice Beach.

Venice Beach boardwalk featuring muscle beach and Abbot Kinney is a must-see. Walk around, take a dip and get your toes in the sand. With plenty of skateboarding, paddle tennis and basketball hoops the atmosphere is fantastic (with a few interesting characters to match!).

Hollywood Blvd.

If you’re in L.A you have to visit the famous Hollywood Blvd. We managed to squeeze in a quick show at the Hollywood Bowl before heading over to the Hollywood sign.

The Hollywood Sign.

– The Hollywood Sign is 137.16 meters long, and its mammoth letters are 13.72 meters high.
– The Sign originally read “Hollywoodland”.
– The original sign contained thousands of light bulbs, which were changed daily by a caretaker who lived in a small house behind one of the Sign’s giant “L’s.”

Sunset Junction.

Next we headed over to Sunset Junction for some great shopping! And it definitely did not disappoint. With all our favourite shopping spots including Mohawk General Store and REVOLVEclothing all in one place, how could it not! There are also some great vintage clothing shops!

After hearing some amazing reports about a fast food restaurant called “In-N-Out” we had to check it out. Established in1948 by a family man who would go to the markets every day, pick out the fresh ingredients and would make each burger by hand. In-N-Out now has 268 locations and for new store openings, people have been known to line up for 4 hours to get a taste of this fast food phenomenon.

Luckily we only had to wait 30 minutes and let me tell you, the burgers are definitely worth the wait!

Goodbye LA. We love you!
