The Ultimate Green Smoothie

Jump on the healthy bandwagon, and succumb to the green smoothie phenomenon. They’re so much more than your ordinary old juice for the simple fact that they’re not juiced. Green smoothies are blended and retain all the valuable fibre of the whole plant food – meaning that it’s immediately available for body absorption.

So yes, you’ll need a blender. But once you’ve got that covered it’s as simple as throwing in a bunch of healthy greens, superfoods, banana and coconut water. Pour it into an old school jam jar and you’ll (at least) look like you’re the epitome of health.

A great light breakfast option or healthy afternoon snack, here’s our ultimate green smoothie recipe.

1 peeled, frozen banana (with mango season upon us, try replacing with peeled, frozen mango!)
2 handfuls of kale, spinach or any other leafy greens
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
½ cup of coconut water
5-10 almonds
Optional additions: Super greens, Flaxseed oil or whatever other healthy goodies you can get your hands on.

This recipe makes 2-3 green smoothies. You delicious green concoction is able to be kept in the fridge for up to 2 days!
