We’ve been swept away by their bohemian style dresses, effortlessly beautiful blouses and free flowing skirts, now the ever so popular label, Auguste, has broken into the Swimwear world, and yes, we couldn’t be more excited!

With their feminine floral prints and flattering cuts, the collection stays true to the brands key message of ‘wearing what makes you feel beautiful.’ To learn more about the first of many upcoming eye catching swim collections, we caught up with Ebony Eagles, the label’s creative brainchild to pick the finer details.

Could you tell us how the idea of creating a swimwear range came about?
Auguste has such a coastal-living element to it. Living in Byron, I am always designing for my everyday life which so heavily involves the sea… In daylight savings time nearly every afternoon is spent down at The Pass with my family. It felt really natural to start designing swimwear – why not be able to wear Auguste surfing or swimming as well?!

Where did you draw your inspiration from for this range?
As with all our collections, you’ll see inspiration there from the 70’s – both in the cuts (especially the one piece) and in the vintage-inspired floral patterns. It was important to be that the designs felt timeless.

Is this a one off or something we will see from Auguste seasonally?
We’re looking at creating some select swim pieces each season – watch this space!

Auguste has established itself as an iconic women’s wear brand, do you see your swim line doing the same?
For me it wasn’t about creating an entirely different label – but rather making pieces that could be effortlessly styled with the rest of the range, such as  one-pieces that can be worn under our tops or maxi skirts. Auguste Swim was created with the same group of women in mind as our ready-to-wear, with an intention to add another element to the lives of our customers.

What swimsuit will we catch you wearing this summer?
Definitely our floral one pieces, I wear them paired with vintage denim.

Do you have any swimwear or summer rituals?
Hands down favourite summer ritual is filling up the beach basket with snacks, piling the surfboards into the car and hanging down at the Pass until the sun has set…pushing our babies into tiny little waves and sharing their excitement when they stand up! Im a massive one piece advocate, I live in swimwear in the summer so I need a lot of choices!
