ASPEN: We're Giving Away The Trip Of A Lifetime
For the snow hounds among us, winter is fast drawing to a close, and with it the departure of our favourite season of the year. Bluebird days, fresh powder up to our eyeballs, backcountry slopes and across-country roadtrips with the crew will soon be melting away. We’re a stubborn bunch though and aren’t quite ready to say goodbye, so we’ve teamed up with the legends over at Ski Travel Company to hook you up with the chance to win those winter vibes back again!
Up for grabs is the chance to jet away on the trip of a lifetime to Aspen, Colorado. With four separate mountains within a 12 mile radius, Aspen delivers world-class terrain from beginner to expert with over 5,000 acres of shreddable slopes just waiting for you and your mates to arrive. Join us on a virtual tour of the ski resorts, the lifestyle, the climate and the terrain and allow yourself a moment to daydream!
Aspen Mountain is renowned for its famous black-diamond terrain and has a total of 76 trails with a huge variety of glades, bumps and steeps. The mountain has been open since 1947 and is a major drawcard for those who are hunting challenging terrain and plenty of adrenaline. Push yourself and then soak up the pristine views and food in the Sundeck at the summit before heading to the next run on the Silver Queen Gondola.
Aspen Highlands is a local favourite with a well-rounded range of terrain and only a short ride away on the free shuttle that runs constantly between all four mountains. The Highland Bowl is the major drawcard of Aspen Highlands and offers some of the most intense slopes in the entire state. Only accessible by hiking or snowcat, the rewards of endless pristine runs are well worth the effort.
Buttermilk looks exactly how it sounds with smooth and gentle rolling trails that draw families and beginners into its safely embracing slopes. However, don’t be fooled as there’s also another side to its personality with a massive 22 foot superpipe (voted #1 by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine Reader’s Poll for best pipe) just waiting to welcome freestyle riders.
Snowmass sits to the west of Buttermilk and the air is a little thinner up here at the summit with an elevation of 4,297m. Lose yourself in the heady choice of cruisers, glades, steeps, terrain parks and halfpipes because Snowmass is by far the largest ski resort in Aspen with a veritable playground of choices from beginner to expert!
When you’ve worn yourself out riding the free shuttle between the four mountains and hooting on your mates it’s time to heed the call of the plenty of fine establishments scattered throughout Aspen and Snowmass villages. Nestled at the base of their respective mountains, get ready to experience the mountain nightlife thronging with crew who are all there for the same reason as you, because it’s time to let your hair down after a full day on the mountains! Stroll between live music, bars, restaurants and events and recharge in the Aspen Square Condo Hotel before you head out for the next bluebird day!
